Heatwave in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Update as of August 22, 2023.

Key Points

  • Seven departments in the region have been under an orange alert since Saturday, August 19, 2023, including three since August 18, 2023.

  • Trends in heat-related morbidity indicators from August 18, 2023, to August 21, 2023:

    • No increase was observed between August 18, 2023, and August 21, 2023, in emergency department visits for the composite heatwave indicator (iCanicule) among coded visits across all age groups. Due to a technical issue, data from August 20 and 21 for certain emergency departments could not be included in this analysis. Changes in the indicators should be interpreted with caution.

    • Increase between August 18, 2023, and August 21, 2023, in the proportion of SOS Médecins calls for all ages and those aged 75 and older.
