Key Points

COVID-19

  • Decrease in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (unadjusted) IR fell from 261 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 31 to 190 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 32. IRs are declining in all four departments.

  • Overall downward trend or stabilization of various indicators in community and hospital settings. Estimated vaccination coverage by place of residence reaches 83.1% for one dose and 82.3% for a full course.

Extreme heat, heat wave

  • A new heatwave affected mainland France between August 8 and August 13, 2022. On August 9, 2022, Finistère, Morbihan, and Ille-et-Vilaine were placed under a yellow heatwave alert. From August 10, 2022, to August 13, 2022, Météo-France placed Finistère and Morbihan under an orange heat wave alert, and Ille-et-Vilaine and Côtes d’Armor under a yellow alert.

  • An increase in visits to emergency rooms and calls to SOS Médecins for heat-related illnesses was observed during this heatwave. Since August 14, 2022, all departments in the region have once again been placed under a green heatwave alert.

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. There has been a decrease in the number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations compared to the previous week. Decreased activity among children under 5 in hospital emergency rooms.
