Key Points

COVID-19

  • The epidemic situation continues to worsen. The incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR) are all rising. The regional (unadjusted) IR rose from 370 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 47 to 439 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 48. The IR is rising in all 4 departments. Slight increase in the prevalence of general care hospitalizations and critical care hospitalizations; increase in visits to hospital emergency rooms and calls to SOS Médecins.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity. Stabilization of activity.

  • Slight increase in emergency room visits and decrease in SOS Médecins consultations. Decrease in RSV detection according to the virology laboratories at the Brest and Rennes university hospitals.

Influenza

  • Epidemic activity, rising phase.

  • Sharp increase in SOS Médecins consultations and emergency room visits. Increase in the detection of influenza A viruses by the Virology Laboratory at the Brest University Hospital and a slight decrease by the Virology Laboratory at the Rennes University Hospital.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity.

  • Increase in monitored SOS Médecins indicators and the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week.
