The incidence rate rose from 164.7 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 11 to 190.8 per 100,000 in Week 12. The positivity rate remained unchanged from Week 11 at 5.6%. The proportion of suspected cases of the so-called British variant is 84.4% in Brittany, and that of the Brazilian or South African variants is 3.0%. Vaccination coverage stands at 13.3% for a single dose. As of March 31, there were 12 confirmed cases in Brittany of the 20-C variant, initially identified at Lannion Hospital. The situation is concerning, with a combination of rising incidence and significant strain on hospitals.
