Key Points

COVID-19

  • Decrease in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (unadjusted) IR fell from 288 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 43 to 229 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 44. The IR is declining in all four departments. Slight increase in calls to SOS Médecins, decrease in the prevalence of hospitalizations in general and critical care units, and in visits to hospital emergency departments.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic activity, rising phase.

  • Continued increase in the number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations: levels reached are close to those observed during pre-pandemic seasonal peaks. Circulation of RSV according to the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest University Hospitals.

Influenza

  • Pre-epidemic activity. Stable emergency department visits and a sharp increase in SOS Médecins consultations. Circulation of influenza A virus reported by the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest university hospitals (slight decrease in week 44).

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. Decline in monitored indicators, particularly among children under 15 years of age.
