Key Points

COVID-19

  • Increase in the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR). The regional (crude) IR rose from 368 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 38 to 429 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 39. The IR is rising in all four departments. Increase in the prevalence of general care hospitalizations, critical care hospitalizations, visits to hospital emergency departments, and calls to SOS Médecins.

Bronchiolitis

  • Increase in monitored indicators, particularly in the eastern part of the region. The Virology Laboratory at Rennes University Hospital reports a sharp rise in RSV detections in analyzed respiratory specimens.

Asthma

  • Stabilization in emergency room visits and a slight decrease in SOS Médecins consultations; indicators are close to the values typically observed during the back-to-school period.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. Emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations have stabilized compared to the previous week.

Monkeypox

  • As of October 4, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., 40 confirmed cases had been reported in the Brittany region.
