Epidemiological indicators show that the 2014–2015 flu season peaked during weeks 6 and 7 of 2015 in Brittany. The observed decline continues among SOS Médecins associations; however, a resurgence in emergency room visits for influenza and influenza-like illnesses is noted this week. As in previous weeks, mortality recorded by civil registry offices—across all age groups and among those aged 75 and older—exceeds threshold values. For the first 10 weeks of the year, preliminary estimates of all-cause winter mortality by region show that it is approximately 16% higher than expected mortality for all ages and 19% higher for those aged 85 and older (expected mortality calculated based on the previous 8 years). In week 10, there was a decrease in the number of deaths from all causes across all age groups and among those aged 85 and older compared to week 09. These estimates should be interpreted with caution, as the episode is not yet over and the data are not yet consolidated due to the usual delays in data transmission.
