COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Centre-Val de Loire Region as of January 27, 2022

In Week 3, virological indicators rose for the 15th consecutive week.

  • Increase in the incidence rate (IR) across all departments (+30%): from 2,515 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Indre to 3,673 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Indre-et-Loire.

  • The IR rose more sharply among those under 15 (5,249; +35%) and those 75 and older (745; +45%).

  • Increase in the positivity rate (PR) across all age groups and all departments.

  • Stabilization in emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19, an increase in hospitalizations, and a decrease in critical care admissions for COVID-19.

  • 96.7% of screened tests showed a profile consistent with the Omicron (D1) variant in S03.
