Oscour® Network Emergency Department Visit Indicators

  • The monthly number of emergency room visits for mental health issues among adults in March 2023 was comparable to that of 2022, but lower than the average for the same period from 2019 to 2021. The monthly number of visits in 2022 was generally similar to the average for the years 2019 to 2021, but the monthly activity rate was lower.

  • The monthly number of emergency room visits for mental health issues among children in March 2023 is slightly lower than in 2022 but significantly higher than the average for the same period in 2019–2021.

  • The monthly number of visits in 2022 was higher than the average for 2019–2021, but the proportion of monthly activity was lower.

  • The monthly number of emergency department visits for suicidal ideation in 2022 was higher than the average for the years 2019 to 2021.

  • Other mental health monitoring indicators from the Oscour® network showed no significant changes.

Indicators from the CoviPrev survey

In wave 35-36 (September 12 – December 12, 2022):

  • Increase in the proportion of anxiety disorders.

  • Stabilization in the proportion of depressive disorders and suicidal thoughts reported over the past 12 months.

  • Decrease in the proportion of sleep problems and in the life satisfaction score.

No statistically significant changes in these indicators were observed.
