Body image, relationships with others, and romantic experiences.
As part of a quadrennial international WHO survey on the health behaviors of school-aged children, known as HBSC (Health Behaviors in School-aged Children), the French contribution to the 1994 wave was conducted among 4,004 young people aged 11, 13, and 15 in the Midi-Pyrénées region (Toulouse) and in Lorraine (Nancy-Metz). A self-administered questionnaire was distributed and completed in class, anonymously, under the supervision of individuals from outside the school. The questions focused on self-perception and body image, the psychosocial environment, and behaviors and perceptions regarding sexuality. The author presents a summary of the analysis of the responses.
