In Week 30 of 2022, the decline in SARS-CoV-2 circulation continued in the Grand Est region.

• Decrease in incidence across all age groups.

• Decrease in the number of new hospitalizations across all departments; stable critical care admissions compared to Week 29 of 2022.

• Decrease in the number of emergency room visits.

• Decrease in the number of COVID-19 consultations for the region’s five SOS Médecins associations.

• Departmental incidence rates: a decrease in incidence rates across all departments in the region. The highest rates are observed in the Ardennes (559 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), the Meuse (552 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), and the Haute-Marne (543 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

• In the Grand Est region, the screening rate is 39%, and 99% of screened tests indicate a suspected Omicron variant (for tests where the mutation is sought and interpretable). In week 30 of 2022, 88% of screened samples carried a mutation consistent with the new Omicron sublineages, including BA.2.12.1, BA.4, and BA.5 (stable compared to week 29 of 2022).

Extreme heat, heat wave

• In week 30 (July 25–31, 2022), no department in the Grand Est region was yet under a heat wave alert.

Acute gastroenteritis

• The circulation of enteric viruses remains very low in the region.
