COVID-19

Following the sharp rise in the incidence rate that began in week 52 of 2021, the incidence rate continued to decline for the fourth consecutive week in week S08-22. It nevertheless remains high at 770 new cases per 100,000 residents. The decline is therefore continuing, but at a slower pace than in previous weeks.

Bronchiolitis

  • SOS Médecins: Due to a data transmission issue, SOS Médecins consultation data are not interpretable for weeks 07 and 08 of 2022.

  • OSCOUR®: In week 08-2022, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age was 2%, down from the previous week (4%). There were 34 emergency department visits for bronchiolitis in week 08-2022, compared to 56 in week 07-2022. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 6% in week 08-2022, down from the previous week.

Influenza

  • SOS Médecins: Due to a data transmission issue, SOS Médecins consultations are not interpretable for weeks 07 and 08-2022.

  • Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for flu-like illness, all ages, increased slightly in week S08-2022 compared to the previous week (61 versus 50 in S07-2022), representing 0.2% of activity.

Gastroenteritis

  • SOS Médecins: Due to a data transmission issue, SOS Médecins consultations are not available for weeks 07 and 08-2022.

  • Oscour®: The number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis (AG), all ages, continued to decrease slightly in week 08-2022 compared to week 07-2022 (634 visits versus 651 in week 07-2022), with a corresponding decrease in the share of activity (3% in week 08-2022). Children under 5 years of age still account for the majority of this activity, with 452 visits for GEA (16% of the share of activity for this age group). The proportion of hospitalizations for GEA across all ages among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit remains stable at 3%, but is increasing among children under 5 years of age (28%).
