COVID-19

In Week 38 of 2022, increased circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in the Grand Est region:

  • Increased incidence across all age groups except for those aged 0–9. The increase is particularly marked among older adults.

  • A sharp increase in the number of new hospitalizations across all departments, but stable admissions to critical care compared to week 37 of 2022.

  • Increase in the number of emergency room visits.

  • Increase in the number of Covid-19 consultations for SOS Médecins associations in the region.

Monkeypox

  • 94 confirmed cases in the Grand Est region. No cases were reported in the region during week 38.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 38 of 2022, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age was 4%, or 59 visits; this figure remained stable compared to the previous week. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 11% in week 38 of 2022.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 38 of 2022, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 5%, an increase compared to week 37 of 2022.

  • Virology data: circulation of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is slowly picking up in the region, but remains a minority compared to other respiratory viruses, particularly rhinoviruses and enteroviruses.
