Key Findings

• An increase in the number of diagnoses of influenza and influenza-like illnesses was observed in private practice and in emergency departments across the region during Christmas week.

• In France, the influenza epidemic threshold was exceeded in week 52. According to data from the hospital laboratory network (RENAL) and the Grog Network, the influenza viruses circulating this year are type A and type B.

• The number of cases of bronchiolitis and bronchitis among children under 2 years of age is trending downward in week 01, both for the SOS Médecins association in Meurthe-et-Moselle and for emergency departments in Lorraine. In France, visits to hospital emergency departments for infant bronchiolitis are also currently decreasing.

• In mainland France, the Sentinelles network reports that the epidemic threshold for acute gastroenteritis was exceeded in week 52. Regional indicators are also on the rise.
