COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for French Guiana as of November 10, 2022

Key Points

  • In S44, virological indicators showed low circulation of COVID-19 in French Guiana.

  • The incidence remains stable and low at 25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. This situation is observed in all sectors of French Guiana except in the Savanes sector, where the incidence rate was slightly higher in week 44.

  • An upward trend in the effective R was observed over the 7-day rolling period from October 30 to November 5, 2022: 1.21 [0.95–1.50]. However, it remains non-significantly above 1.

  • Hospital indicators were also low and stable, with 2 new hospitalizations across all departments recorded in Week 44. There were no ICU admissions or deaths due to COVID-19 during Week 44.
