Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in French Guiana. Update as of February 5, 2016.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The circulation of the dengue virus in French Guiana remained low from early December 2015 through the end of January 2016 (S2015-50 to S2016-04).During this period, the number of clinically suggestive and confirmed dengue cases remained at stable and low levels, typically observed during inter-epidemic periods. The outbreak detected in the municipality of Matoury at the end of November has been extinguished since the last week of December (S2015-53). Thus, the epidemiological situation of dengue on the island of Cayenne, and therefore throughout the territory, corresponds to Phase 1 of the Psage: "sporadic cases." This transition to Phase 1 will be submitted to the Management Committee at its next meeting, to be held on February 5, 2016.
