Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Malaria activity has been low to moderate since late October 2014. The seasonal surge usually observed in St. Georges at the end of the year did not occur in 2014.However, several cases, particularly among military personnel, involve individuals who became infected following stays or missions at gold mining sites, particularly in the municipalities of Maripa-Soula, Camopi, and Saül. The malaria risk map could not be updated by the expert committee and will therefore be released at a later date.
