Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Viral circulation is clearly on the rise in Martinique, where the epidemiological situation regarding Zika now corresponds to Level 3a of the Emerging Arbovirus Response Plan (Psage): "epidemic phase requiring standard management measures." Currently, only four municipalities have not reported any clinically suggestive or confirmed cases of Zika.

The epidemiological situation regarding Zika in French Guiana corresponds to Level 3a of the Emerging Arbovirus Psage: "epidemic phase requiring standard management measures." This level will be submitted for validation to the Expert Committee on Epidemic Diseases and the Management Unit. The known affected areas are the island of Cayenne, the Kourou sector (Kourou and Sinnamary), and western French Guiana (Saint Laurent du Maroni and Mana).

The epidemiological situation regarding Zika in the community of Saint-Barthélemy corresponds to Level 1c of the Emerging Arbovirus Psage: "no confirmed indigenous viral circulation, with viral circulation in other overseas departments and territories."

In Saint Martin and Guadeloupe, the epidemiological situation regarding Zika corresponds to Level 2 of the Psage: "autochthonous viral circulation."
