Key Points

Dengue

  • Over the past two weeks, the spread of the virus has been on the rise in French Guiana, both in urban areas and in hospitals across all sectors (except Maroni, where the situation remains stable).

  • In emergency rooms, the number of visits has doubled.

Malaria

  • In S02 and S03, the number of malaria cases remains high, with 77 cases—45 and 32 reported each week, respectively—including 1 case of P. falciparum contracted in French Guiana or Brazil. Among the 76 cases of P. vivax, 24 are relapses.

  • In total, 107 malaria cases have been diagnosed since early January: transmission remains intense and at levels equivalent to those observed in late 2023.

Bronchiolitis

  • End of the epidemic.

Influenza

  • Ongoing epidemic with moderate circulation.

COVID-19

  • Moderate circulation.

Diarrhea

  • Epidemiological indicators are on the rise in remote communities and coastal communities.
