Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Since early November 2014, activity related to influenza-like illness has remained below the levels typically observed for this time of year. However, an increase has been observed since late January (Week 2015-05).Among the 15 samples analyzed by the CNR Influenzae at the Pasteur Institute of French Guiana over the past two weeks (S2015-07 and 08), the Influenza A/H1N1pdm09, A/H3N2, and B Yamagata viruses were identified in 6 patients.Finally, during the month of February, one severe case infected with the A/H1N1pdm09 virus was hospitalized in the intensive care unit; this was an imported case.
