The influenza epidemiological situation remained calm during the second and third weeks of July (Weeks 27 and 28). No influenza viruses were identified during this period, and no severe cases were admitted to intensive care.

  • The 2021–2022 seasonal influenza epidemic lasted from late December 2021 (W52) through mid-March 2022 (W10), a total of 11 weeks—shorter than previous epidemics.

  • This season was characterized by the co-circulation of influenza viruses exclusively of type A, with the majority of positive samples testing positive for the A/H3N2 virus (97%).

  • In total, 3 severe cases of influenza were admitted to the intensive care unit during the epidemic; these were patients with comorbidities. These patients made a favorable recovery.
