Surveillance of COVID-19, Influenza, and Bronchiolitis in French Guiana. Update as of April 13, 2023.

COVID-19
In S14, virological indicators reflected low circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in French Guiana. The incidence rate and positivity rate remained stable at low levels (10 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and 6.1%, respectively) amid stable testing activity.
Indicators were slightly higher but remained at a low level in the Cayenne Island and West Coast sectors and were declining in the other sectors.
The number of emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 remained stable compared to the previous week. Four new hospitalizations across all departments for other reasons were recorded, and no admissions to intensive care were recorded, as in the previous week.
No deaths were reported in Week 14, as in Week 13.
The Omicron variant is the only one circulating in French Guiana. The XBB recombinant was identified in all sequenced samples between Week 03 and Week 13.
