COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Hauts-de-France Region as of December 16, 2022
Key Points
The epidemic is still on the rise in the Hauts-de-France region, as evidenced by trends in virological indicators (all tests combined).
In urban areas, the increase in healthcare visits for suspected Covid-19 continues at SOS Médecins, and consultations for acute respiratory infections (all causes combined) are also rising sharply among doctors in the Sentinelles Network.
In hospitals, visits to emergency departments for suspected COVID-19 continue to rise, and the number of new admissions is increasing again in general wards.
Currently, only 1 in 3 people aged 60 to 79 (35.3%) and fewer than 2 in 10 people over 80 (14.6%) have “up-to-date” vaccine protection against Covid-19. Only 1 in 10 eligible individuals (11%) has received a bivalent booster vaccine tailored to the Omicron variants.
