COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Hauts-de-France Region as of July 23, 2021

The epidemiological situation deteriorated across the region in week 28, with a rapid decline in the departments of Aisne, Nord, Oise, and Pas-de-Calais, and a slower decline in the Somme. Pressure on hospital care capacity remains stable.
The L452R mutation (characteristic of the Delta variant) is the predominant strain (87%) in the region and is on the rise.
Vaccination as of July 20, 2021: nearly 6 out of 10 residents of Hauts-de-France (56.9%) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and nearly 1 in 2 (47.2%) have completed their vaccination series.
