Key Points

COVID-19

  • Regional epidemic activity is on the rise again in week 51, particularly in the southern part of the region (Oise, southern Aisne, and southern Somme)

  • Among those tested who reported symptoms, one in four (23.9%) tested positive for SARS-CoV-2

  • Strong and steady increase in cases among young adults (ages 20–39), while a decrease is observed among those under 15 due to the closure of schools

  • New hospitalizations (including critical care) remain at a high level, but the number of new hospital admissions has stabilized

  • The Omicron variant’s target mutation was detected in 45.9% of tests screened for these mutations

  • More than 40% of the region’s population aged 12 and older has received a booster dose

  • Epidemic activity is declining but remains at a high level

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

  • Transition to the pre-epidemic phase

  • Increased healthcare utilization for influenza-like illnesses and detection of the first severe cases admitted to intensive care

  • Increased detection of influenza viruses (primarily type A) isolated from hospitalized patients

Gastroenteritis

  • Stabilization of epidemic activity across all age groups and among children under 5
