In mainland France, the epidemiological situation shows that the number of emergency department visits for bronchiolitis has remained stable for the past 3 weeks at a very moderate level, with the peak having been reached in week 52 of 2014.
In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, outpatient and hospital indicators have been declining overall for the past six weeks.
Surveillance of influenza-like illnesses
In mainland France, epidemiological and virological indicators continue to rise well above the epidemic threshold.
In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, outpatient indicators are at a high level, exceeding regional epidemic thresholds for the eighth consecutive week. Emergency room visits for influenza-like illness have increased over the past three weeks.
Surveillance of severe influenza cases
In mainland France, 483 severe cases of influenza have been reported this season, including 37 in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and 9 in Picardy. The majority of cases had risk factors for complicated influenza and were infected with an influenza A virus.
Surveillance of acute gastroenteritis
In mainland France, the incidence of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice is below the epidemic threshold.
In Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, calls to SOS Médecins are close to expected levels, below regional epidemic thresholds. Visits to emergency departments for gastroenteritis remain moderate.
Monitoring of carbon monoxide poisoning
In mainland France, 735 cases involving 2,685 people have been reported since September 1, 2014.
In the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, over the past two weeks, the number of cases has decreased, with 6 cases involving 26 people.
In the Picardy region, 2 cases have been reported to the surveillance system over the past two weeks.
