Health Barometer 2000: Initial Findings. Survey of People Aged 12–75.
The 2000 National Health Barometer survey, conducted by the French Committee for Health Education among people aged 12 to 75, compiles the results by major themes, organized into fact sheets covering: the methodology used, perceptions of health, quality of life, physical activity and dietary habits, vaccinations, tobacco use, alcohol consumption, illicit drug use, accidents and their victims, physical violence, sexual behavior, healthcare utilization, and finally cancer screening. The last five fact sheets are devoted to regional studies on 12- to 25-year-olds in Picardy, the Loire region, Alsace, and Nord-Pas-de-Calais. This survey was conducted to better understand the health-related behaviors and knowledge of the French population in partnership with the National Health Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers (CNAMTS), the Ministry of Employment, the High Committee for Public Health (HCSP), and the Interministerial Mission Against Drugs and Drug Addiction (MILD). Many of the topics covered are related to the health promotion and education campaigns conducted by the CFES. The interviews to obtain the results were conducted by telephone. The survey covered a sample of 13,685 people aged 12 to 75. The average duration of the questionnaire was 33 minutes.
