Tuberculosis in Paris from 1975 to 1985 (Paris Department of Social Affairs)
Trends in the number of new tuberculosis cases and relapses reported to the DASS from 1975 to 1985: the number of new cases declined significantly; relapses, however, increased slightly in 1985. A breakdown by age group (children vs. adults) by arrondissement in 1985 and by geographic origin from 1981 to 1985 shows a decrease among children and among patients of French origin. Conversely, there has been an increase among patients from Sub-Saharan Africa. Pleuro-pulmonary forms predominate over lymph node, osteoarticular, and meningeal forms. Hospitalizations at the Assistance Publique in Paris confirm this predominance of pulmonary respiratory forms but reveal an increase in skin lesions and meningeal forms: these surprising figures are currently being verified.
