COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for the Île-de-France Region as of September 7, 2022.
Key Points
In Week 35 in Île-de-France, SARS-CoV-2 transmission remained stable. However, virological indicators remained at a high level:
The regional incidence rate stood at 108 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, remaining stable for two consecutive weeks following seven weeks of continuous decline.
The BA.4 and BA.5 sublineages of the Omicron variant are predominant in Île-de-France.
Use of primary care and emergency services for “suspected COVID-19” is stabilizing in Île-de-France, halting the downward trend observed over the past 8 weeks.
The number of new hospitalizations, as well as the number of new admissions to intensive care and the number of hospital deaths related to COVID-19, were decreasing.
The number of new COVID-19 cases reported by healthcare facilities, as well as the total number of new reported cases, was decreasing.
Given that SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate, vaccination (and booster shots) for all eligible individuals remains essential and must be combined with strict adherence to other preventive measures.
