  • Météo-France maintained the orange heat wave alert for the eight departments of the Île-de-France region on July 23, 2019, and upgraded them to a red heat wave alert on July 24 and July 25, 2019 (affecting 100% of the region’s resident population). Météo-France no longer issued heat wave alerts at the regional level as of Friday, July 26, 2019.

  • Use of emergency care for all causes: Usual variation between July 23, 2019, and July 29, 2019, in the number of hospital emergency room visits and SOS Médecins calls for all causes (all ages and those aged 75 and older).

  • Healthcare utilization for the iCanicule1 composite indicator: Increase between July 23, 2019, and July 29, 2019, in the proportion of healthcare utilization for iCanicule (all ages) as well as in the proportion of hospitalizations following visits for iCanicule among visits for iCanicule (all ages). On July 25, 2019 (red heat wave alert), the peak in activity at hospital emergency departments for the iCanicule indicator was significantly high among those aged 15–74.
