Health Monitoring in the Île-de-France Region. Update as of October 27, 2021.

Key Points

In mainland France, the Île-de-France region reported the highest number of arbovirus cases, all of which were imported; since May 1, 2021, there have been 43 confirmed cases of dengue and 1 confirmed case of chikungunya.

  • The majority of confirmed dengue cases were imported from Réunion (n=20).

  • Among the confirmed cases of dengue and chikungunya, 36 (82%) were viremic upon arrival in the country.

  • One case of dengue with no history of travel, contracted in connection with a kidney transplant from Réunion, was confirmed in the Paris department (75).

  • In 2021, 15 new municipalities were reported as colonized by the Aedes albopictus vector, bringing the total number of colonized municipalities in the Île-de-France region to 51, spread across 7 departments
