Health Monitoring in Normandy. Bulletin of November 26, 2025.
Key points
Bronchiolitis
The bronchiolitis outbreak is accelerating in Normandy. Activity in emergency rooms and at SOS Médecins continues to rise, reaching the highest levels seen last year. The rate of RSV isolation in hospital laboratories has risen sharply. Other indicators (hospitalizations, physical therapy) are also on the rise.
The immunization campaign for newborns against RSV infections continues. Two strategies are available: either vaccinating the pregnant woman to protect the newborn or infant under 6 months of age, or actively immunizing infants with a monoclonal antibody.
Influenza and Flu-Like Illness
Normandy is entering the pre-epidemic phase for influenza, primarily due to an increase in the rate of laboratory isolation of the virus. Activity in emergency departments and community settings is increasing, particularly among those under 15 years of age, but remains moderate. The onset of the epidemic is early, based on historical data.
The flu vaccination campaign is underway. At-risk individuals who have not yet been vaccinated should do so as soon as possible to ensure they are protected before the peak of the epidemic.
