Health Surveillance of Winter Outbreaks in Normandy. Update as of January 25, 2017.

Key Points

This week, the current epidemic situations regarding bronchiolitis, acute gastroenteritis, and influenza have prompted us to provide you with a summary of the epidemiological contexts of these three seasonal winter illnesses monitored by Cire Normandie.Indeed, activity related to bronchiolitis in infants has continued to decline, and the region is now in the post-epidemic phase. Activity related to acute gastroenteritis remained at high levels in the region during week 2017-03 but was down compared to the previous two weeks. Observations from previous winter seasons indicate that this activity is expected to remain at high levels over the coming weeks. Finally, activity related to seasonal influenza reached a regional epidemic peak in week 2017-02. The region remained in the epidemic phase for the sixth consecutive week.
