Key Points

  • For most of the indicators from Oscour®, the number of emergency room visits and SOS Médecins medical procedures remained stable in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter of 2022. However, these indicators remain higher than during the 2019–2021 period. These include emergency room visits for mental health issues, suicidal acts, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and SOS Médecins interventions for anxiety.

  • Emergency room visits for suicidal ideation are on the rise in the first quarter of 2023 (600 visits compared to 400 in 2022 and an average of 250 visits in the first quarters of 2019–2021).

  • Among children, the number of emergency room visits for mental health issues has increased in the first quarter of 2023 compared to previous years, particularly in March 2023, when the proportion of such visits was 24.5‰ compared to 19.2‰ in March 2022.
