Bronchiolitis Surveillance in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Update as of December 14, 2022.
Key Points
The bronchiolitis epidemic is subsiding, with the peak of the outbreak appearing to have been reached in late November (between weeks 47 and 48).
Surveillance indicators began to decline last week, though activity remains high in hospitals and at SOS Médecins clinics.
The impact on the hospital system remains high, with a large proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age, and a significant proportion of infants under 3 months of age among those hospitalized for bronchiolitis.
Positivity rates for RSV and rhinovirus have declined, but their circulation remains very active.
