Health Surveillance in the Aquitaine Region. Epidemiological Update as of April 19, 2012.

News as of April 19, 2012

The Aquitaine Regional Health Agency (ARS) is working with its partners to raise awareness among the general public and healthcare professionals about the importance of vaccination for public health as part of European Immunization Week (SEV). The priorities for European Immunization Week in Aquitaine in 2012 focus on a target population and a vaccine to promote:

  • The need to inform and vaccinate adolescents and young adults (the week’s national priority),

  • The MMR vaccine, as the measles epidemic persists (regional priority) and vaccination coverage remains insufficient.

Trends in indicators for the week of April 9–15, 2012

  • Bronchiolitis: low activity

  • Gastroenteritis: low activity

  • Influenza: moderate activity

  • Activity in private practice and hospital emergency departments: on the rise for SOS Médecins Côte Basque and Pau, and stable in emergency departments

  • Carbon monoxide poisoning: end of winter surveillance
