Measles Surveillance in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. Update as of September 4, 2019.

In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, following an outbreak of measles that began in early May 2019—linked to attendance at the Bayonne Ham
Fair in April 2019—an increase in the number of cases was observed in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department and more
broadly across the southern part of the region between May and June. Since then, the circulation of the measles virus in the region
has decreased. However, vigilance must be maintained, and efforts to prevent the disease and promote vaccination must continue.
