Mortality
: Mortality rates recorded from vital statistics data, across all age groups, remain stable, with the number of deaths in line with the expected number for this period.
Emergency room visits by vulnerable populations
Activity among children under 1 year of age continued to rise this week, remaining above the threshold for the third consecutive week. No change was observed among those over 75 years of age.
Reportable Diseases (MDO)
No MDOs reported this week in the Aquitaine region.
Virology and enterovirus
meningitis Circulation of seasonal respiratory viruses according to Bordeaux University Hospital, notably a sharp increase in RSV; an enterovirus correlated with the observed enterovirus meningitis cases.
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE)
In France as well as in Aquitaine, activity is on the rise according to SOS Médecins and the Oscour® network, primarily among children
Influenza and influenza-like illnesses Low
influenza activity with a moderate increase according to Oscour® and SOS Médecins in Aquitaine as well as nationally.
Bronchiolitis
Continued increase in activity reported by SOS Médecins and Oscour® in Aquitaine (threshold exceeded for the past 3 weeks) and in France. Sharp rise in cases handled by the AquiRespi network (304 children on December 21 and 22).
Carbon monoxide poisoning
Since September 2013, 12 incidents involving 26 people, 19 of whom were transported to the emergency room (nationwide: 523 incidents, 1,546 people exposed, and 13 deaths).
School Absenteeism The rate of
school absenteeism continues to rise, with a few cases of acute respiratory infections and flu-like syndromes reported.
