Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). Number of confirmed or probable fatal cases in France. Data updated as of June 30, 2012. A total of 27 confirmed or probable cases of variant CJD have been identified in France. To date, all patients except for the last two cases reported in 2012 have died.

PhysaTox Surveillance: Since July 1, no jellyfish stings have been reported in Aquitaine.

Trends in indicators for the week of July 2–8, 2012

  • Allergies: moderate activity

  • Heat-related illnesses: low activity

  • Illnesses: moderate activity

  • Reportable diseases: no unusual trends

  • Deaths: no unusual increase observed

  • Private practice and hospital emergency activity: stable for SOS Médecins and in emergency departments

  • Weather data: Minimum and maximum air temperatures below alert thresholds for all departments in the region.
