Cluster of Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) Cases in Aquitaine, May–June 2012: The InVS was notified by the Bordeaux University Hospital of four cases of HUS occurring between June 14 and 20, 2012, in children residing in the departments of Pyrénées-Atlantiques (2 children) and Gironde (2 children). Investigations are ongoing. Trends in indicators for the week of June 18–24, 2012:

  • Allergies: moderate activity

  • Heat-related illnesses: low activity

  • Illnesses: moderate activity

  • Reportable diseases: increase in the number of reported cases of Legionnaires’ disease

  • Deaths: data unavailable for weeks 22, 23, 24, and 25

  • Private practice and hospital emergency activity: stable for SOS Médecins and in emergency departments

  • Weather data: IBM min and max below alert thresholds for all departments in the region.
