Acute Respiratory Infections and Gastroenteritis in Occitanie. Bulletin of March 27, 2025.
Key Points
Acute Respiratory Infections
In Week 12, activity related to acute respiratory infections across all age groups continued to decline in primary care and hospitals. A significant portion of ARI activity was still linked to consultations for influenza viruses, although this proportion decreased compared to the previous week at SOS Médecins (42%) and remained stable in emergency departments (16%).
Influenza and influenza-like illness
In Week 12, the Occitanie region was at the end of an epidemic after 12 weeks of the epidemic (from Week 50-2024 to Week 09-2025) and 2 post-epidemic weeks. Indicators were decreasing in primary care and hospitals and stable in long-term care facilities.
Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea
In the Occitanie region, the incidence rate of acute diarrhea cases seen in general practice was stable in week 12 compared to previous weeks. However, there is still a trend toward increased use of emergency care among the youngest age groups, whether through SOS Médecins consultations or visits to emergency departments.
