Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Bulletin dated July 10, 2025.
Key Points
From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France.
In Occitanie, from May 1 to July 8, 2025, 60 imported cases of dengue and 81 imported cases of chikungunya were identified. Two locally acquired cases of chikungunya were identified in Hérault (see Bulletin) and in Gard (see Bulletin). A new highly suspected locally acquired case was identified in the Hérault department (see below).
To limit the risk of local transmission, 164 entomological surveys and 94 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of the cases.
