Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of May 17, 2024.
Key Points
From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France.
In Occitanie, from May 1 to 16, 2024, six imported cases of dengue were identified.
To limit the risk of local transmission, 9 entomological surveys and 2 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of the cases.
Nationwide, 98 imported cases of dengue were identified between May 1 and 14, 2024. No imported cases of chikungunya or Zika were identified.
Since the beginning of the year, there has been particularly high import pressure, linked to the ongoing circulation of the dengue virus in Martinique and Guadeloupe.
