Bronchiolitis

  • Pre-epidemic phase.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of cases diagnosed as bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age remained low over the past few weeks. In week 41-2023, 22 procedures for the diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age were recorded, representing 5.6% of the overall activity of SOS Médecins associations in this age group (12 procedures in week 40-2023).

  • Oscour® Network: Consultations for the diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age remained stable compared to previous weeks. In week 41-2023, 93 visits for this diagnosis in this age group were recorded, representing 6.2% of visits in this age group (100 visits in week 40-2023). Of these admissions, 34 were followed by hospitalization, representing a hospitalization rate of 36.6% for this diagnosis and 14.9% of all hospitalizations in this age group.

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: cases involving suspected or confirmed COVID-19 remained relatively stable compared to the previous week and at a level still higher than what was observed before the summer (197 cases, or 428 cases per 10,000 consultations).

  • Oscour® Network: visits for suspected COVID-19 were also stable compared to the previous week (284 emergency room visits, or 91 per 10,000 consultations). Of these visits, 38% were followed by hospitalization. Finally, the R-value estimated from regional data from the Oscour® network through October 14, 2023, was below 1 and increasing compared to the previous week.

Gastroenteritis

  • Moderate activity in private practice (SOS Médecins) and low activity in hospital settings (Oscour® network).
