Health Surveillance in Languedoc-Roussillon. Epidemiological Update as of June 7, 2012.

Key Points

  • Hospital Activity

Aggregated activity data by department have remained relatively stable over the past 7 days. A few isolated spikes were observed in the number of hospitalizations following emergency room visits in Gard and Hérault, as well as in the number of visits by people aged 75 and older in Pyrénées-Orientales. The indicators returned to their baseline levels the following day.

  • Summer Surveillance

The Cire has reactivated its partner networks for summer surveillance and is beginning to receive data. We sincerely thank them for their active participation in this surveillance system.

  • Surveillance of vector-borne diseases

Among the suspected cases reported since the start of surveillance, only one case of dengue fever in a traveler returning from an endemic area has been confirmed to date. No locally acquired cases have been identified.
