Heat and Health in Occitanie. A Review of the Summer of 2025.

Key Points

  • More than 2,000 emergency care visits related to heat were recorded during the summer, 20% of which occurred during heat waves. All age groups were affected, but people aged 75 and older were the most impacted (46%), followed by those aged 15–74 (42%).

  • The estimated heat-related mortality is 745 deaths over the entire summer, including more than 330 deaths during heat waves. Nearly three-quarters of these deaths involved people aged 75 and older, whether over the entire summer or during heat waves.
