Key Points

• Heat Wave and Health Alert System (SACS): As is the case every year, the seasonal watch level of the National Heat Wave Plan and the activation of SACS began on June 1, 2015. A thematic sheet on "heat wave risk monitoring" is included in the bulletin but will only appear if the weather situation warrants it. Currently, daytime temperatures are warm and nighttime temperatures are still cool. All departments in Languedoc-Roussillon are on seasonal alert and therefore appear in green on the Météo France alert map.

• Chikungunya/Dengue Surveillance: 18 reports of suspected cases of chikungunya or dengue have been received since May 1, 2015. Only one imported case of dengue (contracted during travel to an endemic area) has been confirmed. No indigenous cases have been diagnosed to date in the region.

• Hospital and medical activity in the region: overall activity in emergency departments and at SOS Médecins clinics is consistent with what is typically observed at this time of year. The proportion of emergency department visits by people not usually residing in the Languedoc-Roussillon region is within the same range as typically observed at this time of year, though data for the past two weeks are still incomplete.

• Gastroenteritis: no particular trend.

• Measles: update on cases reported since the beginning of 2015.
