Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of October 27, 2023.

Key Points

  • In Occitanie, since May 1, 2023, 138 imported cases of dengue, 2 imported cases of chikungunya, and 22 cases of locally transmitted dengue have been identified. No cases of Zika have been identified.

  • To limit the risk of local transmission, 269 entomological surveys and 213 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.

  • This season, three episodes of local dengue transmission were identified in Occitanie. Following outbreaks in Perpignan (66) and Gagnières (30), a new episode was identified in Montpellier.
