Since August 23, 2024, 3,390 cases of chikungunya have been reported on the island, including 3,245 in 2025.
The epidemic has accelerated sharply, with nearly 1,300 cases detected in August.
On the island, 23 of the 24 municipalities have reported at least one case. The increase remains very pronounced in Le Tampon, which continues to report the highest number of cases, but the number of cases is rising rapidly in other municipalities in the South and West.
Since the beginning of the year, the spread of dengue has remained limited.
