COVID-19
Viral circulation increased slightly but remained at a low level, with an incidence rate of 70 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The testing rate remained stable. However, the positivity rate rose to 17%.
All hospital indicators were at low levels in S45.
Influenza
The flu epidemic that began in Week 39 continues in Réunion.
Bronchiolitis
In Week 45, there was an increase in emergency department visits due to bronchiolitis (32 in Week 45 vs. 24 in Week 44, i.e., a 33% increase). Conversely, the number of hospitalizations was down (11 in S45 vs. 13 in S44). In terms of virological surveillance, we observed co-circulation of RSV types A and B. Réunion is not currently experiencing a bronchiolitis epidemic.
